NearYou is a full-stack local offers and voucher platform built for the Romanian market, live at nearyou.ro. Clients browse local businesses, follow the ones they like, claim offers, and receive QR-coded vouchers together with push and email notifications. Businesses get a dashboard to manage offers, posts, claim tracking, subscriptions, billing, and analytics.
The stack is Next.js 16 with React 19 and TypeScript throughout. Data lives in MySQL 8.4, accessed via Prisma 7 with the MariaDB adapter. Authentication runs on Better Auth with Google and Facebook sign-in and admin two-factor. Stripe handles subscriptions and webhook events. Files go to MinIO object storage proxied same-origin. Background jobs run on Redis and BullMQ with a dedicated worker process. Web Push and Nodemailer cover real-time and email delivery.
The entire platform is self-hosted as a Docker Compose stack: app, worker, MySQL, Redis, MinIO, and Caddy as the reverse proxy. Admins approve businesses, manage users, categories, and media, and dispatch platform-wide notifications. NearYou is a self-contained, production-ready local commerce platform with no reliance on third-party hosting.
